Great Lakes Institute of Technology, Erie PA, is seeking qualified INSTRUCTORS to teach General Education Courses-expertise to include Physics, Anatomy, Physiology and Medical Terminology. Position:
- Full-time and Part-time openings available
- Both Day and Evening hours
- Teaching: Monday-Thursday with Fridays as teacher in-service
- Position is “in-person” working on-site at the school
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Demonstrated commitment to providing a quality education through instruction to students in an ethical, fair, and honest manner, upholding all school policies, accrediting standards and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
- Provide instruction in general education courses including Physics, Anatomy, Physiology and Medical Terminology while employing appropriate teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter to students.
- Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse students’ needs.
- Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently and return student work promptly to promote learning and maintain accurate records of student progress and submit course grade rosters to education office each block.
- Track classroom behavior regarding absenteeism, tardiness, and discipline.
- Maintain needed support for externships where applicable.
- Provide supportive learning environment to encourage student retention.
- Ensure students are prepared to take all required accreditation exams (if applicable).
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with a strong knowledge and expertise in general education subjects including Physics, Anatomy, Physiology and Medical Terminology.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to students of varying backgrounds.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan and manage instructional materials effectively.
- Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
- Basic computer skills which include MS Office- Word, Excel, Email, and data entry.
- Basic knowledge and ability to use and/or learn software required of instructors including but not limited to Blackboard, Cengage, and McGraw Hill on-line.
Preferred Requirements:
- In addition to the above, one or more years as an Instructor/Teacher in any one of the following subjects: Physics, Anatomy, Physiology and/or Medical Terminology preferred but not required.
