Great Lakes Institute of Technology is hiring part-time instructors in the Surgical Technology department.
Duties
- Hands-on instruction in aseptic technique, surgical procedures, preparing supplies and equipment, and patient care
- Classroom instruction in anatomy, pathology, pharmacology, and microbiology, as assigned
- Monitor student records of attendance and progress reports
- Strict adherence to all accreditation standards, school policies, and approved curriculum
- Prior teaching experience not required; will train to teach
Requirements
- Strong customer service skills with attention to detail
- Certified Surgical Tech (CST), or a graduate from a CAAHEP accredited Surgical Technologist program, or otherwise eligible to sit for the CST exam
- Minimum of 3 years of recent work experience in the scrub role.
- Preference will be given to applicants with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8 years of ST experience and 15 credits in general education
