The Medical Billing Specialist program provides the student with the training necessary to work with physicians and other medical personnel in an administrative setting. The focus of the program will be on administrative skills such as patient scheduling, telephone techniques, and medical records. The program also focuses on the insurance and billing aspects of the front office. Students are also introduced to medical coding. The program concludes with an externship to a local medical facility to provide hands-on working experience in the medical office.

Certification Opportunities
Insurance and Coding Specialist (ICS)
Medical Billing Specialist students will be given the opportunity to sit for the Insurance and Coding Specialist (ICS) exam held at the school during their last few weeks of externship.
Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA)
Graduates are also qualified to sit for Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) certification exams offered by NHA.
