Amanda Johnston LMT, is a 2013 graduate of the Massage Therapist program and now has her dream job of working with a chiropractor. Employment Specialist, Carl Rozenek, recently had a chance to catch up with both Amanda and Dr. Chadd Rolland, from Rolland Chiropractic in Edinboro PA.
Carl Rozenek (CR): Dr. Rolland, how would you describe your experience with GLIT and the employment team?
Dr. Chadd Rolland (DR): I believe my experience overall has been a success. I appreciate the support of the school and the help of placement services in finding qualified graduates for our practice.
CR: How has it been, working with a recent graduate, Amanda Johnston?
DR: I very much appreciate Amanda. She is very professional, conscientious, keeps a regular schedule, is personable – and the patients appreciate her. The best part is knowing that Amanda wants to always learn more!
CR: Amanda, what is the best part of your job?
Amanda Johnston (AJ): I like working here because I know all our patients by name – it\’s more specific, therapeutic work, which is what I prefer. Dr. Rolland is really great to work for, and the people I work with makes me like my job more!
ES: What advice would you give to future massage therapists?
DR: Find your niche and go with it. While a student, think about the type of environment you want to be in and what type of clients you want to work with.
