Tommy Hammerbeck is a 2001 Surgical Technologist graduate of Great Lakes Institute of Technology. Since Tommy\’s graduation, he has become a Certified Surgical Technologist and a Surgical Assistant-Certified (First Assistant).
After completing his externship, he began work at WCA Hospital in Jamestown, NY. Shortly after, he applied for a position at Kane Community Hospital and has been working there ever since. That is 13 years of dedicated service to the hospital that he has grown to love!
Here is some advice Tommy gives to students looking to enter the Surgical Technologist field. \”This is a high-stress and high-speed field at times, but the feeling of helping people makes up for most of that. Surgery has come so far in the past 13 years with many new advancements.\”
Tommy has been married to his lovely wife, Erin, for more than 10 years, and they have two sons, Isaac and Noah. His hobbies include \”chasing the kiddos around and working hard so we can vacation a couple times a year!\” Congratulations on your success, Tommy!
