Faculty Needed for our Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Program

We are seeking passionate professionals excited to give back to their career field. We are seeking those with a calling to make a difference in the lives of students as instructors in our Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program. This is a great opportunity to teach the next generation in the highly technical skills required in this field.
- Position: Remote Instructors for the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program
- Classes: Day & evening classes taught Monday – Thursday
- Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience
Essential functions
- Responsible for teaching courses offered in hybrid, and distance learning formats and teaching courses using established texts and materials; ability to use on-line platforms such as Blackboard.
- Responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering instruction and assessment of learning outcomes. Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse students’ needs.
- Utilize engaging instructional strategies and methodologies which foster student success both in and outside of the classroom.
- Maintain accurate student records and actively respond to student communication and emails within 48 hours.
- Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently and return student work promptly to promote learning. Track classroom behavior regarding absenteeism, tardiness, and discipline.
- Deliver instruction following pre-approved curriculum and lesson plans.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond accurately to questions from students, managers, clients and customers.
- Deliver instructional content that appropriately prepares the students to pass the national registry exams.
- Ability to solve practical problems and effectively deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exits.
- Participate in faculty meetings, graduation and other school events as assigned.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit course grade rosters timely and according to established guidelines.
- Always Coordinate with the Program Director and Director of Education to ensure the successful operation of the educational program.
- Comply with organization’s policies and practices related to instruction, assessment, and delivery and maintain standards required to ensure on-going program accreditation.
- Prepare and submit to the Program Director and Director of Education prior to the first day of instruction, a course syllabus with daily outline that explains how the instructor will implement the course goal and objectives in accordance with school policies.
- Contribute to the selection and development of instructional materials in accordance with course objectives.
- Faculty must maintain current competence in the field of specialization by engaging in ongoing development of teaching skills and improvement through elements such as virtual attendance for in-house faculty in-services.
- All faculty must adhere to professional ethics in accordance with school policies, procedures and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge of all learning competencies identified in the OB/GYN, Abdominal concentrations as defined by JRC-DMS.
- Knowledge of all regulatory standards relevant to DMS education.
- Appropriate ultrasound credential(s) specific to general concentration.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Sonographer.
- Must have an associate degree in related field, have graduated from a CAAHEP accredited program with a minimum of three (3) years of related practical work experience OR have eight (8) years of directly related work experience.
- Must be credentialed by the ARDMS OB/GYN, AB.
Preferred Qualifications: In addition to above requirements, Bachelors’ degree in related field preferred; proficiency in teaching methodology, evaluation, and curriculum development along with minimum acceptable qualifications for didactic instructor preferred.
