Medicor Associates, part of the UPMC Hamot Heart Institute based out of Erie, has reached out to Great Lakes Institute of Technology for qualified Medical Assistants to fill their open positions.
Amy Bailey, the Director of Clinical Services, says, \”We have found that Great Lakes is extremely easy to work with. They are accommodating, flexible and positive. We have just recently started working with their Externship program. We have hired a number of Medical Assistants who have gone through their training and have been very pleased. As we have opportunity within the office I see us continuing to reach out to the school for qualified graduates. The candidates we have hired have met our expectations and have made a wonderful addition to our staff.\”
According to Amy, the most important qualities she looks for when adding to the staff at Medicor are candidates who are clinically competent and comfortable interacting with patients, families and physicians. It is important that the Medical Assistants display a willingness to jump in and be proactive, especially while on externship.
